What this is
A lifelong fan’s guide to everything “Weird Al” Yankovic. Every song he ever recorded, organized album by album and sortable by what kind of song it actually is. And everything around the songs: the interviews, the official videos, the live shows, the skits, the documentaries, the odd corners of a career running more than four decades.
What makes it different
Most Weird Al sites treat him like he’s a parody act. He isn’t.
Yes, he does parodies. He also does polkas, pastiches, and his own original songs (al-riginals). Each is its own discipline, and the catalog only makes sense once you can tell them apart. So every song here is filed one of four ways:
- Parodies are direct send-ups of one specific famous song.
- Polkas are accordion-driven medleys of recent hits.
- Pastiches capture a band’s whole style without copying any single song of theirs.
- Al-riginals are wholly original compositions. No source material, just Al.
Browse any album, click any song, and the badge tells you which it is. Songs also carry tags for their source material, so you can pull up everything built on a given artist or track.
Everything else
The music is roughly half of what’s here. The other half is the archive: interviews spanning decades, official videos, concert footage, skits, promos, and the strange one-offs. It is all filed by type and searchable in one place, which is the entire point. No hunting across five fan sites and a dead forum.
